Wind Profilers

Wind profilers are Doppler radars that transmit vertical electromagnetic pulses, which bounce off atmospheric conditions, such as clouds, precipitation, and turbulence to provide information about wind speed and direction at various heights in the atmosphere. PSL uses two different types wind profilers in the field: one operating at the 915 MHz frequency band, and the other at the 449 MHz frequency band.
