Darren Jackson is a CIRES Senior Associate Scientist working at the Physical Sciences Division of the NOAA Earth System Research Laboratory. Darren has research interests in satellite remote sensing as they pertain to hydrometeorology and air-sea interaction. Recent work in hydrometeorology includes characterizing the impact atmospheric rivers have on precipitation along the U.S. West Coast and in the Southeast region. Recent work in air-sea interaction include developing satellite retrievals of near surface temperature and humidity over the global oceans and characterizing globally the magnitude and frequency of diurnal warming of sea surface temperatures.
