High Resolution Rapid Refresh (HRRR) forecast image with regional accuracy.
Weather models that provide forecasts over a region on a regular frequency at storm-scale or finer resolutions.
Objectives
Improve accuracy and capabilities of high-resolution regional models in future upgraded versions, and develop ensembles for greater understanding of uncertainty and probabilities associated with forecasts.

Transition of the HRRR and RAP to NWS operations in 2014.
Key performance measures
Delivery of new versions of the HRRR and RAP models to NWS operations in FY16. Cumulative percentage improvement in tests and evaluations of numerical weather prediction forecast system components to inform decisions for NWS operational systems.
R&D maturity level
TRL10, the first versions of the HRRR and RAP have already been transitioned to NWS. New versions and upgrades are in process.
