“Making Forecasts Better” is a new video in NOAA’s Bite-Sized Science Series that shows how Global Systems Division (GSD) research supports NOAA National Weather Service (NWS) forecasters by making day-to-day operations more timely resulting in better forecasts.

In the video, forecasters from the NWS Denver/Boulder office talk about how GSD developed workstations, models, and tools to support all phases of producing forecasts for the public. The NWS Forecast Office (NWSFO) is located steps away from GSD, which allows day-to-day interaction with researchers and tool-builders to better understand their forecast problems and figure out ways to solve them. The NWS Denver/Boulder also tests GSD concepts and ideas, experimental datasets, and software under development preparing for deployment.

The video has been released on the @NOAAESRL YouTube channel.
