Munkhbayar joined the NOAA ESRL Chemical Sciences Division in spring of 2008 to study kinetics and photochemistry of atmospherically important species. Her primary research interest involves rate coefficient and absorption cross section measurements of key species to improve our understanding of atmospheric chemistry. Her current research concentrates on evaluating environmental impact of HFC replacement compounds, their atmospheric lifetimes, assessment of their global warming potentials (GWPs), degradation products and photochemical ozone creation potential (POCP).
