2nd NOAA Testbed USWRP Workshop

What: The workshop will focus on exchanging lessons-learned & best-practices within existing NOAA and related testbeds, and on building cross-testbed collaborations & synergies.
A joint session with NOAA THORPEX PIs will be included at the end of the Workshop, which will focus on THORPEX PI reports and discussion of testbed-THORPEX interactions and collaborations.
Why: This workshop, directed towards enhancing communication across NOAA testbed efforts, is an important opportunity to exchange information on the wide variety of testbed projects across NOAA and related efforts including those from the Joint Hurricane Testbed (JHT), the Hydrometeorological Testbed (HMT), the Societal Impacts Program (SIP), the Development Testbed Center (DTC), as well as, other relevant efforts such as the Hazardous Weather Testbed (HWT), the Climate Testbed (CTB), SPORT and new ones on the horizon.
Workshop Goals:
- Communicate results and future directions for individual testbeds and discuss broader cross-testbed issues and directions
- Identify best practices, collaborations and synergies that could be fostered across testbed efforts
- Understand and discuss improvements towards achieving our testbed goals
- Explore societal impact studies and linkages to testbed activities and goals
Registration: Registration deadline – April 16th, 2010. Working lunches will be provided for all attendees at $12.50 per day. CASH ONLY—there is NO ATM on site.
