Antonietta Capotondi is a Physical Oceanographer who studies the influence of large-scale ocean circulation in climate variability and change using both observations and models. Topics of interest include tropical Pacific interannual and decadal variability with emphasis on the El Nino Southern Oscillation (ENSO), its dynamics, diversity, precursors, and impacts.
She is also interested in variability and change of ocean physical properties (e.g. temperature, salinity, and resulting stratification) that can impact ecosystem dynamics.
