I am interested in interactions between the atmosphere and ocean that affect the climate system. I study atmospheric boundary layer clouds, intertropical convergence zone variability, and cross-equatorial winds over the eastern tropical Pacific. I am working on synthesizing a data set from various in situ observations of the eastern tropical Pacific, and assessing current coupled ocean-atmosphere general circulation models and a coupled regional model of the eastern tropical Pacific climate system.
