By Cloud Heights-from LIDAR and 1500 UT there is a deck between 4 and 6 km RADAR AGL with a narrow layer above at 7.5 km AGL ------------------------------------------- At 1300 UT, lidar saw a very thin liquid Liquid Water Layers-LIDAR layer at 150 m or so. Rainbow around the sun, Visual Observations slightly hazy at surface, cloud wisps barely visibly overhead, dark stratus bands on the horizon. ------------------------------------------- No new activity. Extensive cloudiness to the south over Barrow and Northern Alaska, some mid level cloudiness to the west which appears to be moving over us. Atmosphere is hazy, lots of optical effects. At 1300 UT when I Comments and Mission talked with Isaacs group, things seemed Recommendations relatively clear over the site, but now a substantial mid level cloud has moved over us at 1500 UT. The Canadian Convair has already left Inuvik for Barrow, and we will have phone contact again at 1900 UT.
