Version Comparison (CT2008)
How do flux estimates from CarbonTracker 2008 compare with previous releases?

The tables below summarize the estimated surface fluxes for combined natural sources (Table 1) derived from the current release (CT2008) and the previous two releases (CT2007B and CT2007) of CarbonTracker, and those used for fossil fuel burning (Table 2). The uncertainty in the estimates is the one standard deviation from the filter estimate. Units are PgC/yr (1015 gC/year, or billion metric ton C/year, or 3.7 billion metric ton CO2/year).

Table 1: Average natural flux (biosphere + ocean + fire) estimated from CT2008 [2000-2007], CT2007B [2000-2006], and CT2007 [2000-2005]. We also include average fluxes computed over common time periods. The uncertainty is the one standard deviation from the filter estimate. Units are PgC/yr.
