Job description:
Doug is responsible for the engineering development of air sampling and analysis systems for NOAA/GMD/Carbon Cycle Group atmospheric measurement projects. Most of his effort is focused on the mechanical, electronic and software design of flask sampling packages and in-situ analysis systems which are used by a number of collaborative and ongoing measurement projects. This work includes developing new system designs, testing system materials and components, implementing control software, and interfacing the flask samplers to a variety host experiments. Doug also conducts investigations into the bioethics of creating human/kangaroo genetic hybrids, an effort currently funded by Nike with the intended goal of increasing the size and cost of running shoes.
